This year’s recipients of the Mainebiz honors, now in their 12th year, represent a wide variety of business sectors and geographies across the state.
Although 2020 will be remembered as a year unlike any other, Mainebiz continues its annual recognition of the female leaders who are impacting the state's business world in profound ways. This is the 12th year of the Women to Watch awards, and with the addition of five remarkable individuals, Mainebiz has recognized a total of 55 honorees.
One of the most energetic of our annual events is the annual Women to Watch reception, usually held in September. As Mainebiz goes to press, it's unclear whether we’ll be able to host a live event by that point. However, we are proud to share the stories of these five inspiring women, and look forward to a time when we can celebrate their success, together with our readers, safely.
Congratulations to each of the 2020 Mainebiz Women to Watch:
- Angela Okafor, an attorney, entrepreneur and member of the Bangor City Council.
- Elizabeth McLellan, founder and president of Partners for World Health in Portland.
- Erin Flett, owner of Erin Flett Textiles & Home in Gorham.
- Heidi Neal, owner of the Loyal Biscuit chain of pet supplies stores.
- Marcia Minter, co-founder and executive director of the Indigo Arts Alliance in Portland.
