Unfortunately for some Mainers and Maine businesses, 2019 was a downer. As the year comes to a close, we compiled 10 stories that explain why.
Any annual period contains a mix of good and bad. On Friday Mainebiz published our compilation of 10 pro-business stories for 2019. Coming up with their negative counterparts, however, wasn’t easy.
To create this list, we sifted through the “Week in Review” section of each Friday’s Mainebiz Daily Report. We considered a variety of other stories Mainebiz reported during 2019. We strove to avoid singling out any company or individual. We realized that bad news for some — like a store closing — might have meant opportunity for others.
The result captures some of the lowest low points for the Maine business scene, overall. Do you agree? Disagree? Let us know.
And look for the 2019 roundup of our 10 favorite “not your typical business story” business stories in Tuesday’s Daily Report.
