Tootie’s Tempeh, Bixby Chocolate among Maine winners in national food awards

From handcrafted tempeh to artisanal chocolate, Maine food and beverage producers scored big in this year’s Good Food Awards.

Products from 242 American companies were selected from more than 1,200 entries. The program recognizes their commitment to crafting products that embody tradition, sustainability, social responsibility and creativity.

The New York-based Specialty Food Association is honoring the companies across several categories: beer, chocolate, condiments and grains.

The 2026 winners from the Pine Tree State are:

  • Allagash Brewing Co., Portland, for both Allagash Lager and Kickabout Lager;
  • Bixby Chocolate, Rockland, for its Belize Organic Dark Chocolate Bar;
  • Maine Grains, Skowhegan, for Organic Einkorn Farro, a grain used in soups and salads;
  • Maine Gravy, Newcastle, for Resurgam Spruced Up hot sauce;
  • Tootie’s Tempeh, Biddeford, for both traditional and curry-seasoned tempeh;
  • Turtle Rock Farm, Camden, for its strawberry chamomile spreadable fruit.

“This year’s winners capture the vibrancy of America’s good food community,” said Mary Beth Vultee, senior vice president of membership at the Specialty Food Association. “It requires a remarkable level of intention to create products that set the standard for taste, quality and responsible production.”
