Two established Portland businesses have signed leases for ground-floor space at 511 Congress St.
Bad Neighbors is set to move this summer, while Portland Kung Fu will relocate to the downtown building this fall.
The additions bring a restaurant and listening bar as well as a longtime martial arts school to the nine-story office and retail building owned by Reveler Development.
Bad Neighbors
Bad Neighbors, founded by hospitality veterans Nicole Costas, Dave Aceto and sound engineer Dennis Gaines, will occupy a 4,500-square-foot space facing Congress Street. The listening bar and restaurant expands on the team’s success with Arcadia, located across the street, and will feature curated music programming, a full-service bar and comfort food.
Bad Neighbors is expected to open later in July.

Portland Kung Fu
Portland Kung Fu, which has operated for more than a decade inside the State Theatre building, will relocate to a 2,875-square-foot plaza-level storefront in October. Founded by Dave Bearce, the school teaches traditional Ving Tsun, a Chinese martial art.

Located in Portland’s downtown, 511 Congress St. offers around 130,000 square feet of office and retail space. Bad Neighbors and Portland Kung Fu will join existing ground-floor tenants, including Workout Anytime, Gardner Real Estate, Embrace Home Loans and Pure Tattoo.
