The Small Business Administration yesterday named Sandford “Sandy” Blitz, an adjunct professor at the University of Maine in Orono and executive manager of the Bangor Target Area Development Corp., as head of the SBA’s New England region.
In his new role, Blitz, a Hudson resident and assistant adjunct professor of public administration at the University of Maine in Orono, will oversee SBA offices in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
Charles Summer, the SBA’s previous New England regional administrator and a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve, was recalled in March to active duty in Iraq.
