Maine’s unemployment rate in April was unchanged from March, holding steady at a seasonally adjusted rate of 7.2%. However, it did fall from 7.7% from last April.
A total of 51,200 Mainers were unemployed in April, down 3,000 from April 2011, according to The Associated Press. Not-seasonally adjusted rates in the state ranged from 11.2% in Washington County and 5.7% in Cumberland County.
The national, seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.1%.
