Cianbro Chairman and CEO Peter Vigue has been appointed to a new committee that will advise federal officials on improvements to the national freight transportation system.
U.S. Sen. Angus King announced Vigue’s appointment Thursday to the committee made up of 47 voting members from outside of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The members, who will serve two-year terms, will hold their first meeting June 25, in part to outline the activities of the new committee.
Sens. King and Collins endorsed Vigue’s appointment to the committee in a March letter to Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.
