Auburn-based VIP Tires & Service has announced donations of more than $320,000 to Make-A-Wish in 2025, bringing its total contribution to nearly $2 million since 2008, when the company first partnered with the charity.
Customers and employees from VIP’s 35 locations in Maine donated $90,677, a sum matched by VIP executive chairman John Quirk to bring Maine’s total contribution to more than $181,000.
Customers in five New England states — from a total of 77 VIP locations — donated to the effort.
Maine led the fundraising totals; New Hampshire came in second with nearly $67,000 raised, including a match from Quirk.
The Make-A-Wish foundation supports children who face life-threatening medical conditions. The Maine chapter was founded by Wayne and Caroline Morong in 1992, and serves children in each of the state’s 16 counties.
“Make-A-Wish is one of the world’s most impactful charities, working around the clock to care for New England’s most vulnerable children. Our leadership team couldn’t be prouder of this long-term commitment to philanthropy,” said Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP.
In addition to supporting Make-A-Wish every year, VIP also works to protect a cleaner environment by recycling used antifreeze, motor oil and transmission fluid, free of charge.
Founded in 1926, VIP is northern New England’s largest privately held automotive service provider and tire dealer, operating 77 locations throughout the region and employing close to 800 people.
