VIP Tires & Service has acquired M&M Service Station in Fort Kent, expanding its footprint in New England to 78 locations.
This is VIP’s second acquisition this year.
The Fort Kent facility, at 69 East Main St., currently employs six team members, and VIP plans to add two more certified technicians.
M&M's former owner, Zach Hafford, will stay on as VIP’s store manager.
“It has been great owning M&M Service Station for the last five years, but joining forces with VIP will help us invest a lot more in customer service tools and will provide more career opportunities for my M&M team members," Hafford said. "I’m very excited about the opportunities that this change brings with it.”
For VIP, the deal bolsters its presence in Aroostook County, where it already has locations in Presque Isle, Madawaska and Houlton.
Fort Kent upgrades
VIP will renovate interior spaces in 2027, adding new automotive, tire and alignment equipment and two more service bays, along with expanded on-site tire storage.
“M&M Service Station has built real trust in Fort Kent over the years, and that’s exactly the kind of relationship VIP Tires & Service builds with its customers and employees,” said Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP Tires & Service.
“By adding M&M Service Station to the VIP family, we are not only enhancing our investment in our home state of Maine, but we are extending our promise of trustworthy, reliable service to more communities across Aroostook County.”
VIP Tires & Service, which is privately held, has 78 locations across five New England states and nearly 800 employees.
