Westbrook Development Corp. makes promotion for president role

Westbrook Development Corp., an affordable housing developer, has promoted Tyler Norod from director of development to president.

Norod joined the organization in 2021, after serving as a development officer at Avesta Housing, where he led projects across southern Maine and New Hampshire. Those developments included the use of historic tax credits, Passive House-certified buildings for seniors, and a multi-phased mixed-use urban development.

Prior to working in real estate development, Norod spent several years as a housing planner for the city of Portland and as a senior project manager for the Boston Redevelopment Authority.

Norod steps into a role held by Richard Begin, who retired in March.

Founded in 1987, Westbrook Development Corp. has created more than 600 units of affordable housing in the greater Westbrook region and currently has close to 400 affordable apartments in development across Westbrook, Windham and Biddeford.
