Whole Foods Market is considering Scarborough as the location for its second retail shop in Maine.
Spurred by the success of its Portland store, the Austin, Texas-based natural foods grocer has been working with Scarborough Economic Development Corp. to find the right spot, according to The Current in Westbrook. The company for the last year has spoken with developer Dead River Properties, possibly to occupy its Scarborough Village Square retail center, the paper said.
Whole Foods also is considering locations from York to Falmouth, but didn’t specify when the new location would be built, the paper reported.
