After having a proposal turned down by Thomaston town officials earlier in the year, national discount retailer Dollar General is now hoping to build a store in another nearby Knox County town, Union.
The Bangor Daily News reported that Nobis Engineering, a Concord, N.H.-based firm, submitted a proposal to build a 9,100-square-foot store at the intersection of Route 17 and Townhouse Road.
According to the BDN, a pre-application town planning board meeting for the proposal is slated for Nov. 10. Code Enforcement Officer Grant Watmough told the BDN that there will be multiple site plan review meetings for the proposal on the commercially zoned property.
