A Bangor woman will serve nine months in prison after pleading guilty to stealing more than $56,000 from a charitable entity belonging to Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems.
The Bangor Daily News reported that Laurena Cunningham, 47, was also ordered to pay $56,495 in restitution to the entity, of which she has already paid $11,000.
In her role as a courier for donations, Cunningham skimmed a portion of cash donations, substituting the bilked amount with checks she withheld from previous donations.
