Woodfords Family Services

2024 Goals

In addition to continuing to provide high quality, evidence-based programs and services for children, youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through its unique continuum of needs-responsive programs and services, throughout the upcoming year the agency will continue to:

  • Be responsive to the challenging needs of the individuals we serve by expanding critical clinical, educational, family support and training programs.
  • Substantially expand upon its existing Central Maine service delivery portfolio to help address service accessibility and availability throughout the area.
  • Advocate for increased mental and behavioral health service capacity, and the development of needs responsive services throughout the state of Maine.

Fundraising Events/Opportunities

Businesses and donors can contribute to Woodfords events through donations, sponsorships, item solicitations and committee membership. Agency events include:

Woodfords’ Cornhole Classic: First held in 2023 and returning in spring 2024, this event brought more than 250 spectators and 50 teams to the Gorham Sports Center in support of Woodfords’ programs and services.

Family Fun Day: Welcomes more than 600 attendees annually each July at the Maine Wildlife Park. Family Fun Day offers attendees a chance to connect and celebrate being a part of the Woodfords community in a unique and accessible setting.

Auction Gala: With more than 250 silent and live auctions items, cocktails, live entertainment and dinner, this event offers a night out that you are sure to never forget. Held annually in September, the event welcomes more than 300 attendees each year.

Giving Opportunities

Woodfords’ Holiday Giving Program supports consumers and their families with winter clothing, heat, food and holiday gifts. A gift of just $25 can support a Thanksgiving meal for four and $50 can purchase new boots and a warm coat for a growing child. Support this effort through a direct donation or by matching employee gifts to the program.

Consider a donation to the agency’s Family Emergency Fund, which provides basic needs assistance to consumers and families served by Woodfords’ Case Management Programs in times of financial hardship.

Consider a monetary or in-kind donation of tickets, passes or annual memberships to the agency’s Community Fund, which provides barrier-reduced access to inclusive community experiences for consumers throughout the agency.

Volunteer Opportunities

Get involved with Woodfords through service on a committee, hosting a fundraiser, offering an in-kind service or volunteering at one of the agency’s events.
