Hancock Lumber moved into new headquarters at 1267 Poland Spring Road (Route 11) in Casco. Zachau Construction of Freeport managed construction, working from drawings from Scott Simons Architects, a Portland firm.
The new HQ is across the street from one of Hancock Lumber’s three sawmills and next door to one of the company’s 10 retail lumber yards. The old headquarters, at 4 Edes Falls Road in Casco, was on the grounds of Hancock’s original site. Hancock is a sixth-generation family owned business, led by CEO Kevin Hancock.

Coastal Maine General Contracting Co. in Bar Harborrecently completed an Ellsworth branch office for First National Bank, at 194 Beechland Road. Coastal Maine has handled a range of projects Downeast, including the public works building for the town of Winter Harbor, a bagging facility for Coast of Maine Organics in Marion, both the town office and fire station for East Machias, among other projects. The company was founded by and is led by Matthew Gurney.

Wright-Ryan Construction will manage construction of Verdante at Lincoln Park, a Portland condo development from NewHeight Group in Portland. Archetype Architects handled design. Groundbreaking is expected in June.
Benchmark Construction of Westbrook is finishing work at 208 High St. in Ellsworth, a retail center that will include MattressFirm, AutoZone and Aspen Dental. Benchmark also has the contract for renovations and an addition to the city of Portland’s fleet services facility, at 250 Canco Road.
PC Construction, with Maine offices in Portland, is building a Bath store for Aroma Joe’s Coffee.
AlliedCook Construction has been selected as construction manager for Avesta Housing’s West End Apartments project in South Portland.

E.L. Shea of Ellsworth is general contractor for the Mount Desert 365 building now under construction in Northeast Harbor. It will house Mount Desert 365 as well as the Maine Seacoast Mission. A4 Architects of Bar Harbor handled the design.
