Established in 1991, the award program is considered to be a tool that offers members an opportunity to evaluate their safety records.

The Institute for Family-Owned Business said it received a record 505 nominations for this year’s contest.

In 2009, Mainebiz started a program to honor women leaders who showed remarkable leadership and vision.

Outstanding Women in Business is the evolution of the Mainebiz Women to Watch program, which was started in 2009 to put the spotlight on women leaders.
