Holiday Inn By the Bay

Furcationland is a volunteer-run group based in Scarborough that raises funds for the Short Folk for Hope Foundation, a South Paris-based cancer support charity. More than 1,900 people attended this year's annual event in Portland.

More than 900 people attended the Maine Real Estate & Development Association's annual conference Thursday in Portland.

The three-day event had been scheduled to take place in Portland this week.

Planned renovations at the Holiday Inn By the Bay include new wallpaper and fresh paint in both the Grand Ballroom and Pre-Function space as well as updated lighting and audiovisual offerings. The project is slated for completion in early February.
