The company recently opened a branch in the York County town of Sanford, its seventh in the Pine Tree State.

Browne Trading Co., a Portland-based seafood and caviar merchant, has added three new investment partners.

The final settlement of the accelerated share repurchase agreement with JPMorgan is expected in the fourth quarter.

The proposed branch would be the New York-based banking giant's seventh retail location in Maine and the second in York County.

Chase, which has five branches in southern Maine to be followed by a sixth this year, plans to add another southern Maine location amid a nationwide expansion by the Wall Street banking behemoth.

Despite higher interest rates, construction costs and labor shortages, construction projects continue to break ground and come to fruition across Maine.

Today, Chase employs around 30 people at its retail branches in Portland, Falmouth, Westbrook and Saco.

The retail branch would be the first in Maine for Mascoma, which is headquartered in New Hampshire.

Out of 625 executives polled between June 14 and July 5 for the bank's mid-year outlook, 45% anticipate a recession this year or believe the economy is already in one, down from 65% six months ago.

The planned branch, located at 1 Hannaford Dr. (or 205 U.S. Route 1), comes on top of existing branches in Portland, Westbrook, Falmouth and Saco.  A planned branch in Yarmouth is also under construction, but Scarborough was added to the mix after the original plan.
