Maine eateries have had to pivot to keep up with their patronage, offering shorter hours and revised menus. While many have been able to work through ongoing challenges in the wake of the pandemic, several well-known restaurants have closed.

The Marine Stewardship Council plans to take action to suspend the sustainable certification Dec. 15. Certification is required by some large seafood buyers, so the suspension could affect lobstermen’s ability to sell their catch.

The company will have 20 retail locations in the U.S., Singapore and Japan after it opens its latest lobster "shack" this winter.

The Institute for Family-Owned Business honored a range of businesses. Winners included Kennebec Cabin Co. of Manchester, whose owners achieved worldwide fame from the "Maine Cabin Masters" reality show.
