The keynote speaker for this year’s conference is Barton Seaver, a chef, author, and sustainability advocate best known for his work on responsible seafood and ocean-friendly food systems.

To greet the park's 4 million annual visitors, the $27.7 million Acadia Gateway Center is situated on the main thoroughfare to Mount Desert Island.

Starting in January, the Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands will begin a competitive grant program to provide $7.5 million per year for trail design, maintenance and construction.
