Casco-based Hancock Lumber has broken ground on a 44,000-square foot manufacturing facility in Oxford, which will enable the company to significantly expand production of prefabricated building components.
Construction on the project began in October 2025. The first residents will move in when the first phase is completed in early 2027 and the entire build is anticipated to be finished by the start of 2028.
Construction has begun on the Lambert Woods North apartments at 2274 Washington Ave. Extension in Portland, phase one of a large affordable housing development that will eventually include 162 apartments.
The $87.8 million affordable housing development will replace a surface parking lot on the corner of Elm and Oxford streets. It's a joint project between Avesta Housing and Reveler Development.
