The enormous cranes hovering over Portland’s Bayside neighborhood are orchestrating construction of a 201-unit affordable housing complex under development by Avesta Housing and Reveler Development.
The additions bring a restaurant and listening bar as well as a longtime martial arts school to the nine-story office and retail building owned by Reveler Development.
The venue — with 35‑foot ceilings, factory windows and floral design studio — can host 600 guests inside and 200 guests on a new riverfront covered patio.
Construction on the project began in October 2025. The first residents will move in when the first phase is completed in early 2027 and the entire build is anticipated to be finished by the start of 2028.
Masahiko Miyake, who has since sold the restaurants Miyake and Pai Men Miyake, launched Aomori at 52 Hanover St., on the street level of the Armature, a 171-unit apartment complex in Portland.
