Fifty-five employees in Brunswick and one in Bangor have lost their jobs as part of more widespread layoffs by the Boston-based online home furnishings retailer.

Just in time for the holidays, a toy retailer with locations in Bath, Freeport and Yarmouth has a new husband-and-wife team filling naughty-and-nice lists. 

Wayfair is best known as a retailer of home furnishings, but a Portland teacher has remodeled her classroom with the company’s products after winning a national contest held by its business-to-business division.

Wayfair plans to add 150 more jobs to its Brunswick Landing site.

Last winter's announcements that Boston-based home furnishing store Wayfair would be bringing 500 jobs to Brunswick Landing and the call center company SaviLinx would be hiring an additional 200 employees have fallen far short of those projections.
