Join Maine Lawyers for the Rule of Law for a Law Day Celebration

Don’t miss our second annual Law Day Celebration on Friday, May 1 at noon at Lincoln Park in Portland. This public gathering will feature remarks from the legal community and supporters come together to reaffirm the fundamental principles of our legal system. Now more than ever, it is critical that we collectively renew our commitment to the rule of law. We must remind ourselves that no one, not even the President, is above the law.

On May 1, representatives of Maine Lawyers for the Rule of Law will lead the Law Day Celebration. We will hear brief addresses from respected leaders of our profession, and read the Declaration Supporting the Fundamental Principles of our Legal System signed by over 600 Maine lawyers and 70 Maine law firms last year. Speakers will include Attorney General Aaron Frey, Maine Law School Dean Leigh Saufley and former Maine Supreme Court Chief Justice Dan Wathen. Those lawyers attending will be invited to reaffirm the oath they took to uphold the Constitution when they were first admitted to the Maine bar.
