Significant professional accomplishment: Stay Bar Harbor Hotel Group operates 263 rooms in Bar Harbor with another 63 under construction or renovation. We are also expanding outside of Bar Harbor, where we have 100-plus rooms in the pipeline. At Coston, McIsaac & Shea we have been able to grow our assets under management from $60 million to $350 million since 2015.

Passion project: I enjoy supporting local opportunities in reading and education. Last year I sponsored the nonfiction section of the Jesup Memorial Library as part of its expansion project, and I helped Husson University create a space for a student-led marketing agency.

Within our hotel group I started a book club for staff members where we meet biweekly and they earn bonuses for participating. I also enjoy supporting local youth sports. I sponsored the irrigation of our local baseball fields, and I help support a youth basketball program here on Mount Desert Island called No Excuses, which had a big impact on me when I was growing up.

Audacious goal: I am working on building a collection of exceptional Old Master paintings to display in our hotels. The goal is to bring world-class works — the type of works you’d normally only find in museums — to our guests here in Bar Harbor.

Favorite quote: “How sublime was the way in which Shun and Yu possessed all under Heaven but remained aloof from it.” — Confucius

Influential book: Given how I feel about reading, it’s extremely challenging to narrow it down, so here’s a handful: “Analects,” by Confucius; “The Art of Worldly Wisdom,” by Baltasar Gracian; “Antifragile,” by Nassim Taleb; “The Life & Legend of Jay Gould,” by Maury Klein; “Be My Guest,” by Conrad Hilton; “Made in America,” by Sam Walton; “Steve Jobs,” by Walter Isaacson; “Finding Alpha,” by Eric Falkenstein; and countless others.

Favorite movie: “Gladiator”

How do you recharge: I listen to music while I drive around the island — in town, through the park, wherever.
