The head of the Manufacturers Association of Maine, speaking at a Mainebiz forum earlier this week, suggested targeting future workers as early as fourth grade.
Tariffs “were a rollercoaster ride last year, and that rollercoaster does not seem to be easing up at all this year,” Maine State Economist Amanda Rector told a Mainebiz forum on Wednesday.
The Maine Outdoor Economy Summit, scheduled to be held in Portland Jan. 21-23, is designed to be a meeting ground for sharing ideas and actions across the industry.
Issues on the agenda for the full day conference include recent housing-related legislation, the impact of Maine's economy on home affordability and availability, and how modular and manufactured housing can help meet the state's needs.
“2023 ended on solid footing," Amanda Rector said at a Mainebiz forum on Wednesday. She cited the state's growing diversity as a sign of "new thoughts, new innovations coming into the workplace."
“The recession threat has faded for the moment, but that does not mean we are out of the woods yet,” Amanda Rector said Thursday at a Maine Real Estate & Development Association event.
