MEREDA has named Shannon Richards as president of the statewide organization, succeeding Craig Young.

The spring conference of the Maine Real Estate & Development Association on Wednesday drew 300 people to the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland.

MEREDA’s Spring Conference brings together a line-up of national, regional and local speakers and panelists to discuss how development projects can be feasible and contribute positively to evolving societal needs. 

From fun Instagram reels to new home listings, real estate agents in Maine are using social media to promote their brand, stay connected to clients, find new ones, and much more.

The deal completes a process Botto's started in November 2022, when it moved to Westbrook and put its Washington Avenue building on the market.

MEREDA's spring conference, focused on solving Maine's housing crisis, covered a lot of ground. YIMBY, short for "Yes in My Backyard," is a pro-housing movement that sprung up in response to NIMBY.

MEREDA's spring conference will be Thursday, May 25. The keynote speaker will be Sonja Trauss of the San Francisco housing advocacy group, Yes in My Back Yard.

The General Services Administration leased 5,282 square feet of space at 707 Sable Oaks in South Portland. It will be used by the Department of Veterans Affairs for a Vet Center.

"MEREDA Matters" is an audio show that promises "to highlight the people, stories and relationships behind the responsible real estate development happening in Maine."
