Norway Savings Bank donated $1,000 to Saco River Theatre to help the group raise funds necessary to relocate the Indian Cellar Historic Tea House in Hollis.
Founded in 1972, Avesta is the largest nonprofit affordable housing provider in Maine. It manages more than 150 properties and has 800 new homes and units in development.
The location leverage proximity to a planned 126-acre development of senior and workforce housing, ski condos, restaurants, commercial space and assisted living facilities.
Out of the total, $750,000 was paid out this year, while the remaining $305,500 will be distributed in the form of multi-year grants, according to the bank.
Auburn's facility is home to the second-largest youth hockey program in the state, six local high schools and special hockey events, including Maine Mariners hockey and the University of Maine's Lady Black Bears.
