On Monday, a plan to rebrand USM as the University of Maine at Portland received approval from the board of trustees. But the proposed name isn't official yet.

More than 110 Maine employers participated in a job fair Thursday at the University of Southern Maine in Portland. The event, billed as the largest of its kind in the region, drew a mix of students and current professionals.

The University of Southern Maine has been accepted into the University of the Arctic, a cooperative network of over 200 international schools, research institutes and other organizations focused on education about the North Atlantic region.
