Partnerships, collaborations and facilities are popping up to support startups and entrepreneurs in fields ranging from life sciences to food production to marine biotechnology.
Amid changing federal research funding landscapes, the partnership will support blue economy research and development and create commercialization pathways.
The final round came down to Jessica Estes, president of the Boulos Co., who was playing for Learning Works, and Jacqueline Edmondson, president of the University of Southern Maine, who was playing for the USM Scholarship Fund.
The Crewe Center for the Arts, due to be completed in 2025, recognizes the generosity and commitment of Daniel Crewe, a longtime champion of the arts who served as business manager for his brother Bob Crewe, an award-winning songwriter and record producer of “Four Seasons” fame.
The Southern Maine Pathways transfer agreement will allow students to start their education at SMCC and, upon successful completion, seamlessly transfer their credits to USM, where they can continue their education by working towards a bachelor's degree in a related field. Southern Maine Pathways allows students to plan, save and focus on achieving their goals.
