The enlarged bank, now known as Maine Community Bank, employs more than 370 people, and has branches in Cumberland, Androscoggin and York counties. 

The merged entity would have nearly $2.7 billion in assets and become Maine's second-largest mutual savings bank.

Susan M. Collins, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston since July, spoke to Mainebiz after her first visit to Maine to meet with political, business and nonprofit leaders.
