Hannaford Supermarkets is working to help older adults gain better access to food and social connections through a new program, and on Tuesday kicked it off by presenting the gift.
For six years, a group of Portland-area chief executives from companies like Hannaford and WEX have been informally meeting to share ideas and camaraderie. That help has become more important than ever during the pandemic, says the group's founder, Steve Smith of L.L.Bean.
The 40,000-square-foot greenhouse allows the farm to triple production and add products, vital to a partnership with Hannaford Supermarkets, which will sell Springworks products in all 184 stores.
