The joint program offers a fully online pathway from medical laboratory technician to medical laboratory science and the state’s only bachelor’s degree in this field.
The gift, from the estate of the late Donald and Linda Zillman, could fund scholarships and/or building improvements. Donald Zillman was a president of UMPI and also served as dean of Maine Law.
Touted as a first-of-its-kind for adult learners, the degree will be offered by the University of Maine at Farmington and delivered through the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s existing online program called YourPace.
The 120-foot-long, 103-foot-wide turf field — consisting of 17-square-foot panels that lock together and then can be disassembled — will go into UMPI's Gentile Hall gymnasium this week.
