Last week, the Portland Hearts of Pine – who currently play in the city-owned Fitzpatrick Stadium – announced plans to build a new soccer stadium on waterfront industrial property. The project is expected to cost more than $50 million, with funding from private sources. Construction is slated to begin in 2027, with an opening targeted for early 2029.
