Corporate Social Responsibility has been a topic of discussion in the past decade, but the term was actually coined in 1953, by economist Howard Bowen, though the concept didn't start to catch on until the 1970s.
CSR revolves around basic responsibilities in several areas — the environment, ethics, philanthropy and economics — though different eras have interpreted it differently and applied greater meaning to certain areas.
The CSR topic generated a lot of discussion during the pandemic, but seems to have cooled off in recent years.
