The retailer is showcasing a new multi-year partnership with New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and Ann Michael Maye, with a playful ad posted on the company’s social media accounts.

To date, Freeport Community Services has raised $2.7 million of the $3.5 million needed for the retrofit.

At SCORE’s annual luncheon, nine small businesses were presented with awards. The event, held in Freeport and attended by 120 people, is a “must-attend” annual occasion for the business community.

Events will include cameos from Boston Red Sox and Portland Hearts of Pine players, as well as the Wallflowers, the band led by Jacob Dylan that first rose to prominence in the 1990s with hits like "One Headlight" and "6th Avenue Heartache."

Chris Rodenhizer has been hired as a construction executive for the Freeport-based general contractor.

Around 140 people attended Wednesday morning's Mainebiz Small Business Forum in Freeport, whose theme was "leading through chaos."

Freeport's business development director said the town has begun showing the space at 76 Main St. to prospective tenants, though no lease has yet been signed.

Southern Maine movie buffs can beat this week’s heat at the newly reopened Patriot Cinemas, which reopened June 22 in the former Nordica theater at Freeport Village Station.

The 11,000-square-foot facility, to be called United 4 Child Care, will open at 2 Stonewood Drive. The United Way of Southern Maine collaborated with the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce to create the new center.

The new store at 58 Main St. in Freeport opened on June 13, expanding the business beyond its original Portland location, which opened in 2025.
