The Herb House will become Shaker Village’s first large-scale year-round space with more than 8,000 square-feet of production rooms, a commercial kitchen and traditional arts studio-classrooms.

The two-phase project will add fiber-to-the-premise service to over 52,000 locations, and is expected to be complete by early 2022.

Unity, which describes itself as "America's Environmental College," has offered most of its curriculum either on campus or via distance learning. Now the school will begin a hybrid program at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester.

Benjamin R. Gideon and Taylor A. Asen recently left Berman & Simmons to start their own statewide trial practice from New Gloucester, with plans to soon add locations in downtown Portland and Bangor.

The company’s founders also co-founded health care information technology company AthenaHealth.

Otelco Inc., which provides wireline voice and data services in rural areas including Maine, has agreed to be purchased by a private equity firm. The deal includes assumption of Otelco's outstanding debt.
