Avesta Housing, headquartered in Portland, is developing two housing projects in the city, the Dashaway and the Prime, which will add a total of 76 units to the Bayside neighborhood.
Friday’s event recognizes the year-round work of those who respond to emergencies and serve communities, including police, firefighters, EMTs, health care workers and Red Cross volunteers.
The New Hampshire-based utility, which provides natural gas service to customers across southern and central Maine, has asked the Maine Public Utilities Commission to approve an increase in its distribution rates. Two hearings are scheduled.
“Our expansion into Massachusetts has created significant opportunities, and this investment positions us to continue building on that momentum,” said CORE’s president.
The six-month program in Portland, backed with a $125,000 grant from the Avangrid Foundation, includes workshops on topics ranging from AI and customer discovery to business models and pricing.
