The towns are jointly exploring radio communication system upgrades to remedy issues that officials said have become critical to public safety.

The deal allows Northeast Civil Solutions to continue the first year under its existing name as a division of Nobis Group and brings Northeast into Nobis’s employee-owned structure.

The newly built shop, located at 1 Bridges Drive, will employ 15 to 18 people and will be the chain's second location in Scarborough.

Spurling Fitness will take over the former Pizza Joint in the busy Mill Creek neighborhood of South Portland. Spurling has other sites in Kennebunk and Scarborough.
