A Hancock County town is Maine’s lone recipient for a USDA program

Verona Island, on the east of the Penobscot Narrows Bridge, is the only Maine town to receive money through a USDA program to upgrade water and wastewater systems.

Colleen and Mike Gross, owners of the Verona Island-based Verona Wine and Design, have announced a mid-June date for the grand opening of a retail and wine shop and tapas bistro of the same name in Bucksport.
