A week after the Travis Mills Foundation acquired the Derby Estates apartment complex, the new owner plans to evict the tenants. “We are still in shock right now," one tenant told Mainebiz. "This whole situation is kind of overwhelming for us."
The foundation has over 100 people on the waiting list for its Warrior PATHH program, which is designed to help combat veterans and first responders transform struggle into strength and growth.
Participants will pull an 80-ton FedEx plane to raise money for post-911 veterans and their families served by the Travis Mills Foundation. Last year the event raised $270,000.
Ten e-bikes from Juiced were delivered to the foundation this summer and assembled on-site for the use of veterans retreat participants and their families.
Three banks, a manufacturing startup, an educator who champions financial literacy and the state's trade association for loggers were all honored Thursday evening by the Finance Authority of Maine.
