Norway Savings Bank has named Beth Garza to the role of vice president and loan operations manager.

The Portland-based bank plans to close its Buckfield location, leaving seven other Northeast branches in Maine.

Recently completed work includes the construction of towers in Buckfield, Charleston, Dexter and Dresden, as well as upgrades in a dozen other Maine communities.

Wells Wood Turning and Finishing, one of the few remaining and larger wood-turning companies in Maine, has been sold to Turning Acquisitions, which plans to keep on employees and expand into new products.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Agency has provided a $1.15 million loan to one of Maine's largest apple growers, Cooper Farms Inc. and Cooper Farms Holdings LLC.
