State requests I-95, I-295 electricity corridor bids

The state's top energy agency is looking for companies interested in using state-owned right-of-ways along I-95 and I-295 to transmit electricity.

Ken Fletcher, director of the Governor's Energy Office, announced today that the Energy Infrastructure Interagency Review Panel is now accepting letters of intent for the possible use of those right-of-ways.

The panel reviewing the proposals includes Fletcher, Sawin Millet, the commissioner of Maine's Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Brian VanNote, deputy commissioner of the Maine Department of Transportation, and four members of the public, including: Barbara Alexander, Timothy Agnew, Harrison Horning and Fenwick Fowler.

More information on the proposal is available at the panel's website.
