About This Event
In this 90-minute session, we'll use our Biz Fit gathering for an annual Check In & Check Up regarding your business' health for the new year as we explore "vital" signs of a thriving enterprise:
External (Mktg., outreach, communications, vendors etc.)
Internal (Ops, financials, HR etc.)
Personal (Self Care as a business owner).
We'll discuss together in small groups how we define a healthy business, share practices that work, and identify what action steps you may want to take individually between check-ups. (We intend to meet again in June so keep an eye out for a 6-month check in that is intended to keep you accountable!)
This will be a supportive and engaging time together to learn, discover and build the strength of our businesses. No pre work, no test, no right or wrong answers.
Biz Fit is a monthly informal, confidential, and supportive gathering of entrepreneurial women where we exchange ideas and share insights. Whether you are an aspiring or experienced business owner, bring your coffee, tea, or smoothie and connect with other entrepreneurs across Maine.

Join us as Haley Ward’s Reality Capture Manager, Norman Akin, walks through how laser scanning is transforming design, construction, and facility planning. If you’ve ever wondered how a 3D scan can save time, reduce rework, or make complex projects easier to manage, this session is for you!
Using advanced laser scanning, our team captures millions of data points in minutes to create detailed 3D models of existing conditions, safely and without intrusive site work.
Common ways laser scanning is used:
• Checking existing conditions and as-built accuracy before renovations
• Creating precise base plans and elevations
• Supporting feasibility studies and site evaluations
• Improving design coordination with Revit® and CAD
• Reducing surprises with clash detection
• Documenting project progress and creating long-term digital records

The health of marine ecosystems, fisheries, and seafood systems in the Gulf of Maine — and around the world — depends on getting the right information to the right people, so they can make the best decisions to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
For over 20 years, the Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) and our partners have been connecting scientists, policymakers, and people who make their living on the water to turn knowledge into action.
Now, with new challenges ahead, join us for a conversation with Meredyth Sullivan, LabVenture Senior Program Manager; John Williamson, commercial fisherman and Managing Director of the Marine Resource Education Program; and Kristin Kleisner, Associate VP and Lead Senior Scientist, Ocean Science at the Environmental Defense Fund. Together, they’ll explore how collaboration and shared understanding—at local, national, and global levels—are shaping the future of our ocean. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
Doors will open at 5:30 pm with complimentary refreshments available, and the program will begin at 6:00 pm. Free parking is available for all registered attendees in the lot adjacent to our building.
