Portland-based Baker Newman Noyes is expected to become northern New England’s largest tax practice after it merges with a smaller company in New Hampshire.
The Portland Press Herald reported that William Steele & Associates PC will merge with Baker Newman Noyes on Jan. 1, bringing the company’s total workforce to more than 200.
Sean Sinclair, chief operating officer of Baker Newman Noyes, said the merger will make the company the largest tax practice in northern New England, based on employees and revenue, which is expected to increase by 15% with the new addition.
William Steele & Associates PC, which serves clients across the country and abroad, will relocate to Baker Newman Noyes’ Manchester, N.H., office as a result of the merger.
