Rockland Industrial Park North LLC is considering the purchase of a 30-acre lot in the city’s industrial park, one of the last available lots there, the Bangor Daily News reported.
The manufacturer could bring up to 40 jobs to the community, City Manager James Chaousis told the city council Friday evening. The council is expected to vote Monday night on the potential sale.
Chaousis told the BDN that the identity of the manufacturer is not yet known by the city, other than that it is a specialty manufacturer that wants to expand its operations. The manufacturer is represented by Portland-based real estate brokerage company The Dunham Group.
“The city of Rockland has been chosen as one of two potential locations for the expansion,” Chaousis told the BDN. “If the project proceeds, it would represent the creation of a large manufacturing complex employing upwards of 40 people.”
The Dunham Group is offering $50,000 on behalf of the manufacturer for the land.
