Nine companies are finalists for the Mainebiz “Fastest Growing Companies in Maine” awards.
Three winners will be picked — one each from the small-, mid- and large-sized company categories — on Nov. 10 at the Mainebiz Momentum Convention in Augusta. Companies will also be profiled for the Nov. 16 print edition.
In the large category, with 75 employees or more, the finalists are (in alphabetical order): Apothecary By Design, Berry Dunn and Vet’s First Choice. All three are based in Portland.
In the mid-sized category, with 26 to 74 employees, the finalists are: Horch Roofing of Warren, Landry/French Construction in Scarborough and Putney Inc. in Portland.
In the small-business category, with up to 25 employees, the finalists are: Interspec Inc. of South Portland, Rising Tide Brewing Co. in Portland and Shad’s Custom Countertops Inc. in Windham.
The finalists were chosen from nominations and will be ranked according to revenue growth over a three-year span. Only companies that grew organically and not through acquisition were considered.
Winners will be announced at a special reception, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 10, at Mainebiz’s Momentum Convention, which will be held at the Augusta Civic Center.
