New hires

The Maine Crafts Association and Shop Maine Craft hired Whitney Gill as executive director and Mia Del Bene as retail gallery manager of Maine Craft Portland.

OceanView at Falmouth hired Randy Corkum as director of assisted living. Corkum was previously director of residential care at Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough.

The Boulos Co., a commercial real estate firm in Portland, hired Roy Donnelly as an associate and Jill Domingos as executive assistant.

Hope Acts, a nonprofit organization that provides housing, English classes and other resources to support immigrants in transitioning to life in Greater Portland, hired Alice Kabore as program director. Previously, Kabore was the multicultural and multilingual coordinator for the South Portland School Department.

Northern Light Health in Brewer hired Mark Lukens as senior vice president and president, Northern Light Acadia Hospital in Bangor.

Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland hired Amanda Milliard as a nurse practitioner at Northern Light Mercy Primary Care in Falmouth and Nan Boucher as a nurse practitioner at Northern Light Mercy Internal Medicine in Portland.

DFD Russell Medical Centers in Leeds hired John Wironen as a physician assistant. Wironen was previously a primary care provider at Sebasticook Family Care in Pittsfield.

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in Standish hired Joe Cassidy as president. Cassidy was president of Southern Maine Community College in South Portland.

The Maine Department of Transportation hired William Geary Jr. as director for the Maine State Ferry Service.

Entrepreneurship for All Maine, a new business accelerator set to launch this fall, hired Obinna Okani as director. Okani currently serves as director of partnerships for the Nimble Group LLC, a Cumberland-based organizer of events, including the Maine HR Convention.

Maine Community Bank in Westbrook hired Cecilia Estrada as residential loan officer serving Southern Maine and Jeanette Garvilles as vice president, senior business banker. Estrada was most recently mortgage loan officer for Key Bank while Garvilles was vice president, senior relationship manager/small business lender for Bangor Savings Bank.

Mascoma Bank in Portland hired Ryan Bishop as senior vice president managing director for Mascoma Community Development, a wholly owned subsidiary of the bank and a registered community development entity.

The Maine Community Foundation in Ellsworth hired Rebecca Yturregui as vice president of donor engagement. Yturregui, who has 30 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations, was most recently vice president, donor relations and philanthropic impact at Combined Jewish Philanthropies in Boston.

Promotions

Northern Light Health in Brewer promoted Gregory LaFrancois to president of Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. LaFrancois will continue to serve as a senior vice president for Northern Light Health.

The Maine Crafts Association and Shop Maine Craft promoted Edythe Morin to manager for Maine Craft Center in West Gardiner.

Camden National Bank promoted David Ackley Jr. to executive vice president and chief risk officer effective July 7. Ackley previously served as senior vice president, director of information security and enterprise risk management.

The Boulos Co., a commercial real estate firm in Portland, promoted Sarah Grillo to transaction coordinator. Grillo was previously a marketing and administrative assistant.

New Dimensions Federal Credit Union in Waterville promoted Angela Hallee to branch manager in Winslow. Hallee was previously branch supervisor in Winslow.

UScellular promoted Tyler Gawrys to sales manager in Westbrook, Payton Austin to sales manager in Scarborough and Valerie Foss to assistant manager in South Paris. Gawrys was previously a retail wireless consultant in Auburn, Austin was a retail wireless consultant in Auburn and Foss was a retail wireless consultant in South Paris.

CUSO Home Lending in Hampden promoted Amy Reaviel to director of training. Reaviel was operations manager.

Appointments

Maine Preservation in Yarmouth added seven members to its board including Anastasia Azenaro-Moore, Erika Cramer, Erik Fiebert, Robert Libbey, DeCourcy McIntosh and Willy Wong as trustees and Shaw Sprague as an advisory trustee.

Kennebec Savings Bank elected Charles Hays Jr. as chair and Mary Denison as vice chair of its board of directors at its Annual Meeting of Corporators. Hayes is president and CEO of MaineGeneral Health while Denison, who is the first woman to hold the vice position in the bank’s history, is a founding partner of Lake & Denison LLC, a law firm in Winthrop.

Hussey Seating Co. in North Berwick added David Leopold and Gary Merrill to its board of directors. Leopold, who joined the board effective immediately, owns Criterium Engineers while Merrill, whose appointment will take effect on January 1, 2024, will retire as CEO of the company July 1.

Achievements

Altrusa International Foundation of Portland Maine named Sharyn Shearer as its “Volunteer of the Year” award winner. Shearer is a volunteer for Project Grace.

Seven volunteers from Catholic Charities Maine were recognized with “Maine Roll of Honor” awards from Volunteer Maine and Gov. Janet Mill’s office for completing more than 500 hours of volunteer service last year. Recipients included Freda Watkins, Carol Hartt, Susan English, Lorraine Barre, Barbara Hughes, Betty Bates and Anne Skelton.

The Maine Film Center in Waterville selected Hungarian filmmaker Ildikó Enyedi as its “Midlife Achievement Award” winner for distinguished contributions to the cinema.

RE/MAX Shoreline in Portland said that Jim Lee was inducted into the National Association of REALTORS RPAC Hall of Fame.

Golden Pond Wealth Management in Waterville announced that Alexis Bowman, relationship manager, completed the requirements for the Series 66 Uniform Combined State Law Exam. The exam is administered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority for the North American Securities Administrators Association.

The Maine Legislature recognized Craig Larrabee, president and CEO of JMG, in the Senate Chamber with a legislative sentiment for three decades of leadership in education.

Norway Savings Bank was recognized for the fifth year-in-a-row as a “Best Wellness Employer” by Wellness Workdays, a provider of corporate wellness programs in collaboration with experts from the Harvard Medical School.

Preti Flaherty, a law firm in Portland, said five of its Maine-based practice groups and 11 of its Maine-based attorneys were selected for inclusion in the 2023 Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

Drummond Woodsum, a law firm in Portland, said eight of its Maine-based practice groups and 26 of its Maine-based attorneys were selected for inclusion in the 2023 Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

Pierce Atwood LLP, a law firm in Portland, said six of its Maine-based practice groups and 20 of its Maine-based attorneys were selected for inclusion in the 2023 Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.
