Community Engagement:

  • We are supporters of the United Way of Eastern Maine, Habitat for Humanity, and the Old Town Orono YMCA, along with several other organizations that we support anonymously.
  • Sargent built, in-kind, baseball and softball fields around Penobscot County.
  • Annually among Gold Award recipients for United Way campaign.
  • Provide scholarships to employees’ children attending accredited colleges and universities.
  • Sponsored and funded a heavy equipment operator program at UTC in Bangor.
  • Employees volunteer as coaches, local board directors, local community committees, etc.
  • Active in local charity fundraising and performing in-kind work for Old Town-Orono YMCA.
  • Perform in-kind work for Habitat for Humanity.
  • Support UMaine both with speakers/instructors and financially (recent engineering building contribution)

Sustainability: Since renewable energy is crucial to our future, we’re proud to say that we’ve played a key role in many solar and wind projects developed in the Northeast. Energy providers and general contractors choose us for their renewable projects because we can do everything from clearing and grubbing to pioneering roads and precise finishing. Sargent’s ability to value-engineer on-the-fly for larger projects results in significant cost savings for owners.
