Ten Maine companies will share $341,423 in federal funds to support renewable energy or energy efficient upgrades.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development program’s latest announcement includes the following grant recipients:
• Mt. Abram LLC, Greenwood: $235,000 for a 256 kWh photovoltaic system with 869 solar panels.
• Lafayette Boothbay LLC (The Tugboat Inn), Boothbay Harbor: $36,000 for two photovoltaic systems.
• Lincoln County Publishing Co., Damariscotta: $20,000 for a 55 kWh photovoltaic grid tie system.
• America’s Wood Co., Washington: $15,000 for a 12.7 kWh photovoltaic grid tie system.
• Artisan Boatworks Inc., Rockport: $8,000 for a 10 kWh photovoltaic grid tie system.
• Quoddy Bay Lobster Inc., Pembroke: $7,230 to upgrade refrigeration units, add a propane boiler, insulate skylight panels and make lighting upgrades.
• P&M Enterprises LLC, Rockwood: $6,495 to insulate a lodge and modify air handling equipment.
• Wolf Pine Farm, Alfred: $4,842 to install 28 solar panels.
• McLaughlin Seafood Inc., Bangor: $4,134 for a biomass-fueled hot water heater.
• Thompson Cottages Inc., New Harbor: $4,000 for a propane-fired boiler.
